Latin Heat in recent days has announced a new coach, new board members, the re-signing of several sponsors and further details for the Latin American Championships.
LATIN America has won its first 13-a-side game in international rugby league, punishing Portugal 40-6 in the Copa Cabral at Rose Bay, Sydney.
In by far the Guzman y Gomez Latin Heat’s best display to date, the representative newcomers showed their rapid improvement since a 0-114 demolition at the hands of the Philippines in January.

For those who are un-aware of the Latin Heat, they are an International Rugby League side representing the 24 Latin Nations of Central and South America. They have played in numerous internationals against the Philippines, Thailand and experienced their first international victory against Portugal on the 19th of October 2014.
THE GYG Latin Heat will debut eight new players for the October 11 Mitchelton Rugby League Nines in Brisbane, after drawing both the USA and host club Mitchelton in its pool.
The new caps include Guyanese Commonwealth Games representative Kevin Mackenzie, former North Sydney Bears trialist Sean Day (Peru) and West Belconnen Warriors enforcer Eddie Wegener (Chile).
