Canada Rugby League link up with Touch Rugby to spread the sport

CRLA and Touch Canada Inc. (‘Touch Canada’) have announced their intention to enter into a formal partnership that will see a new programme established, with both organizations aiming to have rugby balls in the hands of all ages, and especially children, across Canada.

Only a few weeks ago Canada Rugby League Association (CRLA) were letting their fans know of a big announcement to come, leaving a feeling of suspense and excitement amongst Canadian and International Rugby League fans. It was later revealed that CRLA would be partnering with NRL side, the Penrith Panthers.

Toronto, Ont. - (October 13, 2015) - The Team Canada Wolverines will travel to Philadelphia for the final game of the Colonial Cup series against the USARL Hawks on Sunday, October 18th with six different players to the team that defeated the Hawks last month 36-28.

While the spine of the team remains unchanged, there were some selection surprises after gaining their first ever win on US soil.

Canada has set itself the goal of retaining the Colonial Cup when this year's series against the USA tees off next weekend.

"As the Colonial Cup holders, we are coming into this series with the goal of returning the Cup to Canada for the second straight year," said Wolverines team manager Paul Buchanan.

A. Garthwaite Stadium, Conshohocken, PA on 20 September.

USA name initial train-on squad for rugby league internationals against Canada

After six weeks of USARL competition, the growing strength of the domestic game in the USA has been illustrated in the initial 35-man Hawks train-on squad, named to face Canada for a two game series in September and October.

There are 28 newcomers to the representative arena in a group that encompasses all 14 teams; 2014 Premiers Atlanta Rhinos with the most selections, providing a fifth of the total.

This is the 4th edition of the tournament with Canada holding the upper hand having won all three Internationals against Jamaica.

Big crowd sees RAF 40 defeat Canada Rugby League 18

The Royal Air Force have held onto the Billy Bishop Cup by running out 40 - 18 winners against the Wolverines at Lamport Stadium in Toronto on Saturday.

The local's turned up in numbers again with 4,626 getting behind their national team.
