Ukraine train-on squad for European Bowl announced

The Ukrainian Rugby League Federation (UFRL) has announced a 20-man squad for the opening fixture of the 2013 RLEF European Bowl against Norway in Kharkov on 6th July. Fresh from their historic 26-22 victory over BARLA Young Lions, Artur Martyrosyan’s men will be full of confidence.

Ukraine Rugby League team registers historic victory against British

Ukraine rugby league registered a memorable win against the BARLA Young Lions touring team to capture the Artur Martyrosyan Memorial Cup in Kharkov. The British amateurs led 16-10 at the break but the home side crossed three times in the second half, led admirably by Vladimir Mashkin and a strong defensive effort from Sergii Kravchenko, hanging on to triumph 26-22.

Ukraine Rugby League joins the likes of England as full member of RLEF

Ukraine has joined European rugby league’s top table after the RLEF board of directors granted the UFRL full member status.

Jubilant UFRL president Artur Martyrosyan commented, "This is a great victory for Ukrainian rugby league. My heartfelt congratulations go out to all the fans, players and federation staff who have contributed to this historic event. I would like to express my gratitude to the RLEF directors for their trust and support of the sport in Ukraine. Now begins a new and more advanced stage of development here."
