Scorpions to hold Family Fun Day in final game this Sunday

South Wales Scorpions are organising a fantastic family fun day for their last home game of the season against Gateshead Thunder at The Gnoll in Neath on Sunday 19th August (kick-off 3pm).

South Wales Scorpions ready for North Wales Crusaders in Welsh derby

In a sign of how far rugby league has come in Wales the South Wales Scorpions prepare to take on the North Wales Crusaders at the Gnoll in neath this weekend. Both teams play in the Championship 1 competition which is the third tier of rugby league in the UK.

The game is all the more significant as some of the players might just end up in the Welsh World Cup squad come 2013. Rugby League Planet brings you the latest from both camps: 

Community Four Nations – Wales Dragonhearts v Ireland Wolfhounds

Wales Dragonhearts are hoping to get their season back on track with victory against Ireland Wolfhounds this Saturday at Bonymaen RFC (kick-off 3pm).

The Community Four Nations tournament has been won by Wales eight times in its first ten years but England now look favourites for the trophy following their 56-8 demolition of Wales last month.

Flintshire Falcons v Wrexham Bradley Raiders – Deeside Leisure Centre, Saturday at 2pm

Flintshire Falcons will be out to get revenge for their 36-28 defeat to the Raiders at the start of the month, but both sides’ preparation leading up to this fixture has been halted – as they have both had contests away at Prestatyn and Rhyl Panthers abandoned due to serious injuries, within the last week.

Scorpions looking for additional coaching staff

South Wales Scorpions are looking for coaching staff for their new ladies team who are already in training.

The new side had their first ever taster session earlier this week which was taken by existing Scorpions staff but they have said that they need their own independent coaches to move forward.
